India International Seafood Show (IISS) at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, 29th February - 2nd March

We have immense pleasure in informing you that the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, the nodal agency for seafood export from India, in association with the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI) is organizing the 18th edition of the India International Seafood Show (IISS) at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, India from 29th February to 2nd March 2012.
The very objective of organizing this biennial event is to highlight India’s tremendous potential in sea food export and infrastructural development that has taken place in the fishery sector and above all to bring together the exporters and importers under one roof for mutual benefits. It may kindly be recalled that all our previous 17 seafood fairs held in major cities in India were a grand success and had attracted a large number of importers and allied industries in the seafood sector.

The show comes at a time when both the organizations are celebrating their 40th year of service in the export promotion of seafood from India. India's marine product exports have grown by 34% and reached US$ 2.86 billion during 2010-11 and is projected to achieve an export of US$ 4 billion during 2011-12, despite the continuing global recession, economic turmoil in some of the western economies.
The IISS-2012 show shall project the capability of the Indian seafood Industry for production of high quality value added products. IISS - 2012 will provide an effective platform for Manufacturers of seafood products, seafood importers, manufacturers and suppliers of processing machinery, fishing equipment, packaging systems, Lab equipment, certifications, processing ingredients, cold chain system, logistics etc. to showcase their products.
A large number of Indian and overseas delegates and exhibitors comprising of seafood buyers and professionals from technology/service/input segments are expected to be a part of the IISS-2012. The event will bring together the Indian seafood exporting fraternity and the overseas buyers under one umbrella and enable them to interact and finalize future business dealings. IISS-2012 will also have technical sessions about the latest technological and technical developments delivered by world renowned experts.
