India International Hand-woven Fair 2012, Chennai – 27th to 29th March. 2012

Handloom is unparalleled in its flexibility and versatility, permitting experimentation and encouraging innovation.  Weavers with their skilful blending of myths, faiths, symbols and imagery provide their fabric an appealing charm.  The strength of Handloom lies in innovative design, which cannot be replicated by the Power loom sector.  In fact the Indian motifs, the skills of embroidery in ornamentation and value addition have caught the fantasy of the world.

To showcase the ethnic ranges that India produces, the Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC), a nodal agency set up by Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India,   is going to organize an exclusive International fair for handloom products at Chennai Trade Centre from 27th to 29th March 2012.

Buyers from countries such as Brazil, Japan, Italy, France, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Nepal, Tajikistan, South Africa, Uganda, Spain Germany, U.S.A., Serbia, U.A.E., Indonesia, Kuwait, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan have booked substantial orders during the 1st edition of the fair.

During the 2nd edition the number of exhibitors will be increased from 80 to 150. In addition, buying houses to the tune of 75 (25 from India and 50 from abroad) are expected to participate in this fair.

The special attraction of the fair includes “Theme Pavilion”, Technical Seminars and Workshops” and “Cultural events”; besides “One-to-One business meetings”.

The Council will be pleased to extend hospitality package for interested business visitors, which includes to and fro free airfare in economy excursion class along with stay in star category hotel for 3 nights.
