Maharashtra is looking forward towards green growth industrial development. Along the belt of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor the state is developing Smart Communities at Shendra near Aurangabad. The critical components of the Smart Community development are the 3R’s i.e. Recycle, Reuse and Renew.
Maharashtra state has been pursuing a well planned industrial development strategy so as to retain Maharashtra as the number one investment destination. The strategy includes interalia reform driven transparent policies for most of the industrial sectors. Maharashtra is creating economic magnet industrial cities namely Nasik, Dighi, Aurangabad, Dhule as a part of the initiatives taken under DMIC umbrella project. In a view to provide grater support for the MSME sector units a number of policy initiates have neen taken inter alia where 30% if the plots have been reserved in the MIDC industrial area. Additionally the government has made changes in the packaged scheme of incentives to further incentiviza micro, small and medium enterprises in D, D+, 10 low HDI districkts and No-Industry districts. To provide focused attention to MSME sector, Government has recently carved out a separate MSME department headed by secretary under Industries department.
