Wreath laying ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on November 21, 2010.

The Indian and French National Anthems were played by the French army Band after the Ambassador of India to France Ranjan Mathai, Guest of Honour laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arc de Triomphe in Paris on November 21. The Ambassador lit the flame at the memorial. He was accompanied by the Military Governor of Paris and representatives of Commonwealth countries. This ceremony is organised annually by the Commonwealth French Joint Committee to honour the soldiers of the Commonwealth countries who sacrificed their lives in the two World Wars.

The Ambassador lit the flame at the memorial accompanied by General Bruno CUCHE, President of Committee of the Flame & ex-Chief of Army Staff. Also the Amabassadors of South Africa, New Zealand and representatives of other Common Wealth Countries.
