Services

Passport Services and Passport related Consular Services: The Embassy of India has outsourced collection of applications for these services to M/s VF Services (UK) Ltd. with effect from 15th January 2015.  M/s VF Services (UK) Ltd has application collection centres in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Strasbourg and Bordeaux. The details about these centres can be viewed on the given website:

However, applications for the following consular services will be received at the Consular Wing of the Embassy of India:

  • Attestation of Legal Documents
  • Issuance of Sworn Affidavits for persons of Indian origins who are unable to produce an Indian Passport for renunciation of Indian nationality / surrender and cancellation of Indian Passport.

Important: It may be noted that only online completed application forms for various passport services will be accepted.  These can be accessed at:

Any change in the passport particulars would require re-issue of a passport.Re-issuance of passport will be required if there is:

·         Change of Name

·         Change/Addition of name of spouse

·         Change of date of birth

·         Change of address

·         Renewal of passport on final expiry / pages exhausted

·         Renewal of passport of minor

The passport related Consular Services are:

·         Issue of Birth Certificate based on the information in the Passport

·         Registration of Birth and issue of passport to the new born baby

·         Issue of Certificate of Concordance to justify the discrepancy between the name in the Birth Certificate and the Passport

·         Police clearance certificate

·         Attestation of Life Certificate (for pension purpose)

·         Issue of ‘Certificat de Coutume’ for the purpose of marriage

·         Surrender Certificate of Indian Passports

·         Renunciation of Indian Citizenship Certificate

Note: The Embassy does not issue 'Certificate of celibacy’ or ‘Bachelorhood Certificate’.

 

OCI Cards: The Embassy of India has outsourced collection of applications for OCI Cards to M/s VFS Services (UK) Ltd. with effect from 15th January 2015. PIO Cards: The Embassy will no longer issue PIO Cards as it has been decided by the Government of India to merge PIO and OCI Cards into one card. Link to the announcement:

Visa Services: All visa applications are being accepted only through VF Services (UK) Ltd. M/s VF Services (UK) Ltd which has application collection centres in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Strasbourg and Bordeaux. The web-site details can be viewed on the:

However, Visa Applications for persons holding Diplomatic / Official / UN passports are accepted at the Consular Wing of the Embassy of India between 0930 hrs - 1130 hrs on all working days from Monday to Friday.

Requirements of documents for re-issue of Passport / Emergency Certificate upon loss of Passport:

  • Police report in original
  • Passport Application Form (LINK)
  • 4 recent photographs (identical ones)
  • Self-attested photocopy of the first and last pages of the lost/damaged passport
  • Letter of explanation (circumstance under which loss of passport occurred)
  • Affidavit form L (LINK)
  • Fee: 110 € in cash.

The above facility is applicable only for Indian nationals who are visiting France temporarily for purpose of tourism or business
